Permanent, full time
Competitive Salary & Company benefits

Being an IT specialist at McKesson UK, a Fortune Global 500 healthcare company, means being more than simply an IT specialist. An IT innovator. A system streamliner. A programme planner. A tech wizard. Join us, and you could be all these things and more. Based at our Coventry Support Centre, you’ll work with IT colleagues to develop and deliver solutions and projects that help improve lives. Plus, thanks to significant investment in our IT infrastructure, you’ll have opportunities to drive innovation at McKesson, while developing the skills and knowledge you need to take your career to the next level.

About the opportunity
Reporting to our Head of Development and Innovation, our Environments Manager vacancy presents an exciting opportunity for a talented IT professional to shape a newly created role.

As our Environments Manager you will be the owner of the McKesson Technology (UK) release process and play a critical support role for our Application Development and Testing teams, ensuring that the technical environment at each stage of the SDLC allows for efficient, seamless solution delivery to the business – from development and QA/Testing through to Production.

This is a business-facing role, requiring close working relationships with our Development and Testing teams to capture our current state before documenting and improving our operating procedures, reporting mechanisms and suggesting innovations to our technical landscape.

This individual also will have the opportunity to play a key role in the introduction and embedding of DevOps working methodologies to our technical teams.

About you
To be considered for our Environments Manager position, you will have a track record of driving innovative technical or process improvements to Development, Testing and Release environments.

Your domain expertise will be coupled with strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with and influence stakeholders across the department. As a new role, you’ll need to be comfortable navigating complexity and ambiguity, with the autonomy to create your own strategy in a very ‘green’ environment.

You should be a confident user of Jira with exposure to DevOps working practices preferred.

In return for your hard work, we offer training opportunities and development plans, wide-ranging benefits, flexible holidays and a brilliant work-life balance. We’ll also ensure that you feel empowered to support colleagues and make a real difference in people’s lives.
