About the opportunity

McKesson UK, a pioneering provider of integrated healthcare services have an exciting opportunity for a Regional General Manager to join our growing AAH fulfilment and supply chain team.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, this senior leadership role will have full responsibility for the P&L across our Leeds & Gateshead branches; controlling all overhead budgets for the branches including employment, fleet and other overhead costs to maximise profitability.

A key element of this post will be focussed on innovation and skill at bringing winning solutions to our customers, along with the ability to challenge and consistently drive new improvements.

As Regional General Manager, he/she will be expected to deliver a culture of efficiency and maximum productivity across the branches via their leadership team, whilst ensuring that continuous improvement is embedded in all our operational processes.

This role is perfect for a seasoned operator that possess a strong track record in growing profitability across a multi-site environment, who can challenge the status quo and is confident in debating strategic issues & opportunities to support improved branch performance.

He/she will be confident in leading site teams to deliver an efficient & effective service to all our customers in line with the wider business strategy

About you

The ideal applicant will have proven experience of successfully managing several diversified business functions in an FMCG/Retail environment, preferably in the supply chain & distributive industry. He/she will possess strong man-management and leadership skills, with a track record of motivating and inspiring teams to deliver high performance and delivering excellence customer service.

To succeed in this role the Regional General Manager will be well versed in contributing to a strategic agenda and leading change programmes, along with demonstrable success in identifying, developing and retaining high performing talent.

Strong organisational, finance and budgetary skills along with familiarity of PC packages – particularly Word and Excel programs is essential. Prior exposure to Lean methodologies and working within a six sigma culture is to be expected.

We’re looking for people with experience in a similar environment, including time spent leading teams, managing budgets, and helping to drive change. Organisation and communication skills are very important. You also need to be able to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues, and find ways to get the most out of every person in your team.
