Pharmacist Manager - Sanquhar, Dumfries and Galloway - Sign on and retention bonus on offer (£8,000)

This is a fantastic opportunity to expand and develop your experience and expertise. Lloyds Pharmacy is working in Partnership with NHS Dumfries & Galloway to offer this unique opportunity. As well as all the benefits of being a Lloyds Pharmacy Pharmacist you will have the chance to spend two to three days a week working as a General Practice Clinical Pharmacist based within Sanquhar Health Centre

This role will see the pharmacist being employed by Lloyds Pharmacy as a full time employee then seconded to work within the local surgery as a General Practice Clinical Pharmacist on 2-3 days each week. Candidates would need to have a high level of both clinical knowledge and managerial skill to fulfil both roles effectively and the successful candidate would be expected to have already obtained their Pharmacist Independent Prescribing (IP) qualification or would be required to undertake this training supported by NHS Dumfries & Galloway once they start in the position.

This is a unique opportunity to experience pharmacy from both a community pharmacy and General Practice perspective and will be the first time that a position such as this has been offered within the Dumfries and Galloway region.

NHS Dumfries & Galloway is a Health Board region in the South West of Scotland with a population of around 150,000. Sanquhar Health Centre is positioned to the North of the region and has a list size of just under 5,000 people. Working as part of the Community Health & Social Care Pharmacy team, you will work within the health centre alongside the multidisciplinary team and have a key role in implementing the new Pharmacotherapy service that is being delivered in the region as part of the Transforming Primary Care programme. This is a chance for you to shape the future of the pharmacy profession!

The education, training and development of our staff here in NHS Dumfries & Galloway is of paramount importance to us and with this in mind, if you have not already done so, you will be required to undertake the competency & capability based training programme provided by NES for General Practice Clinical Pharmacists. This will give you a solid platform on which to go on and build your career. Additionally, there is a requirement within this post to work as an Independent Prescriber and you will therefore have the opportunity to gain your Pharmacist Indepdenent Prescriber qualification if you do not already have this.
