In-house Legal Counsel (Healthcare)

Reporting to the head of legal, the Legal Counsel you will be accountable for providing legal support to Celesio UK in relation to commercial contracts with third parties including negotiating, drafting and advising on the terms of commercial contracts.
Working closely with the tenders team and senior stakeholders you will provide a customer focused, responsive and cost effective service, managing external legal adviser relationships, developing standard agreements and procedures, supporting with the development of systems and monitoring relevant developments in legislation and industry practise
You will also provide support to Celesio UK on other legal issues that may arise such as litigation, intellectual property, data protection and compliance generally.
We are seeking a qualified solicitor who has excellent communication skills and the ability to provide pragmatic advice to Celesio UK. This is a great opportunity for someone who would be looking to take their first step into an in-house legal role. You will have thorough knowledge of UK contract law and previous experience working in a commercial environment.
Specifically we are looking for someone from a good private practice but with experience of working in an in house team, perhaps on secondment and with experience of contracting \ negotiating with the NHS and also with Pharma companies.
This role is based at our Support Centre in Coventry, Walsgrave Triangle, CV2 2TX. We are located just off junction 2 of the M6, easily accessible by car. If using public transport, we are 5.5 miles from Coventry train station, approx. 40 minutes by bus from the station.
