The Assistant OTC Trader is part of the wider OTC Wholesale team and will assist the management of all suppliers for the OTC Wholesale function, in addition to managing your own small portfolio of suppliers. This support of the supplier base will include range, product, promotions, and category management administration. This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who has experience in dealing with suppliers and looking for a role where they can support the performance of the team as well as developing their skillset in supplier and category management.
About the Role
The relationships we have with our suppliers is central to the ongoing successful performance and profitable growth of our business and therefore the support of this role is key to be able to achieve this.
You will have responsibility for a small portfolio of suppliers and be given the opportunity to negotiate joint business plans to help drive sales through the OTC Wholesale business channels. You will work closely with the Sales and Marketing team to successfully delivery and execute all promotion plans.
Supporting the Trading team with the wider portfolio of suppliers is also a key part of this role. This will involve keeping all relevant product details maintained correctly, dealing with invoice queries, and producing and analysing various reports to support the work of the team. In addition, there will be some support required in assisting the Category Trading manager with range reviews for our customer base.
You will have good commercial acumen and have experience of negotiating. With external relationships being a key part of this role, we are looking for people who are able to demonstrate they have strong interpersonal skills alongside great team working skills.
It is preferable that your experience lies within Supply Chain/ Pharmaceutical/ Healthcare having managed suppliers in any capacity.
We are looking for people who are positive and proactive who can keep calm under pressure and who can professionally represent our business at all times.
You must have good Excel skills, and be able to perform VLookups within Excel.
This role is based at our Support Centre in Coventry, Walsgrave Triangle, CV2 2TX. We are located just off junction 2 of the M6.
